Many ARMYs are probably very curious about BTS’s student days when they were ordinary people and students like the current ARMY. BTS recently shared about their past high school days, and ARMYs have some cute and funny visualizations of them back then.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, BTS talked to Jimmy Fallon about a lot of things, including their excitement about performing at Grand Central Station and proudly talking about how all the members “raised” the golden maknae Jungkook by himself! Before becoming the global stars like today, BTS also had a simple student life like us. Check out BTS’s personal high school experiences below and think about them for fun!
RM revealed that he was a typical “nerd” back then. The leader of BTS is truly the role model of “people’s children” because he is always focused on his stud̾i̾e ̾s and always gets good grades: “I was like, kind of like a nerd. I was all about studying. And I just liked to listen to rap music like Eminem and Nas, but I was just like a- just a good student.”
This is completely understandable because RM once revealed that he scored 850 on the TOEIC test when he was just a middle school student. RM is also known for his high IQ of 148 along with his language ability. He is fluent. But the boy RM when he was in school never once lσst his pa̾s̾sion for hip hop besides studying!
Although he is now known worldwide for his good looks, Jin revealed that he really didn’t stand out much in high school, instead, he preferred silence, no flashy and hang out with his best friends: “I didn’t stand out much. I was the typical quiet student who liked goofing around with friends. I don’t think I have an outstanding memory about my high school years.”
Until now, we can still see Jin’s modesty even though in front of fans and BTS he always calls himself “Worldwide handsome” and shows confidence but many people who have met Jin have said that he He is a humble, warm and sincere idol. Jin also went fishing with Suga many times, went to an amusement park with Sandeul (B1A4) and Ken (VIXX) when there was no schedule. It seems to be a habit from his school days.
When it was Suga’s turn, he gave an answer that suits his honest personality very well: “You know, there is always someone in cla̾s̾s who is bad at stud̾i̾e ̾s. I wasn’t that attached to school. I also had a part-time job back then. But my attendance was really good. I just wasn’t into schoolwork that much.”
This answer finally elicited a “bad boy” chorus from everyone! But ARMY is the opposite, ARMY loves the way Suga witty jokes and shows how hard he works. It’s not easy to nurture his dream of being a producer and an idol while he still has to complete his stud̾i̾e ̾s. Suga also has to work hard to work overtime, but he has never been serious about studying, exams and grades.
j-hope revealed (with the help of RM and Suga) that in high school, he was a pretty popular guy! After a performance at a school festival, he immediately began to be noticed for his incredible talent: “I once performed at our school festival. And since then…” RM continued: “The popular guy” and Suga added that: “That’s like the equivalent of prom parties.”
j-hope is the dance captain of the group with charismatic dance moves. And it turns out this was discovered early on when he was in school. Tuwf while still in school, j-hope found his own artistic path and followed that pa̾s̾sion to the end. So until today, we have only such a talented j-hope “dancing machine”.
Next, Jimin reveals what he was like in high school! In addition to what V said, he insists that he is a diligent student, and has tried his best to excel in everything: “I was an exemplary student. Since I was in high school, I wanted to become a singer, so I left everything behind and came to Seoul. I did my best in everything and took on challenges, so my high school days were quite tough.”
He even revealed what he and V used to do together when they were in high school: “We often went out to eat delicious food together!”
V and Jimin used to do fun things together and eat street food like other high school best friends.
V revealed that in high school, he was laid back and cool! He is almost always late for school, causing trouble for his high school cla̾s̾smate Jimin, who always has to wake him up: “Jimin and I went to high school together. I was always the one who slept in and was late for school, while Jimin was a diligent student. Jimin always woke me up, “Taehyung, wake up!”
This little information made a big impression on Jimmy Fallon, and he started praising Jimin for his dedication to getting his friend to school!
The bustling Seoul that year seemed strange to the boys, the new school, new habits and new friends made V and Jimin feel unfamiliar. But fortunately they had each other during their school days and until now are K-pop stars.
Finally, maknae Jungkook was asked about his high school days, and he revealed that he went through every day of high school with support from his hyungs because he debuted first at the start of high school: “All of us gathered for both my entrance and graduation ceremony, because it was after our debut. I already debuted back then, so our members were always with me throughout my high school years.”
When he was a 15-year-old kid, Jungkook went to Seoul alone and lived independently from the harsh entertainment industry. But fortunately during that time, Jungkook had older brothers who were shining examples for him to learn and follow. They are also the ones who took care of and protected Jungkook to become a strong man like now. And maybe ARMYs can’t forget the touching saying of Jungkook that: “I don’t have friends, I only have my brothers (BTS)”.
